What is part of a job application?
6. April 2020
- Letter of application
– I introduce myself: Who am I? What are my core competences? Why am I the right person for this job? Why do I want this position? - Curriculum vitae (CV)
I provide an overview on:
– my educational career / degrees
– vocational career / degrees
– What have I done professionally so far?
– other strengths and qualifications: Honorary positions, certificates of additional knowledge acquired (e.g. a computer course), stays abroad, language skills - Application photo
– clothing should match the job you’re applying for
– formal / friendly
– carefully label the picture on the back with your name for the case it gets lost
– image can be attached to the CV - certificates / work samples
– the last two school certificates, respectively diplomas
– internship certificates
– certificates of other qualifications
Here is important: the documents serve as evidence for the information from the curriculum vitae; both should match up. They are usually arranged chronologically, from new to old.
There are templates on the internet for the various components of the application. It is good not to simply copy them, but you can use them as a guide.
