Apartment found
Congratulations! You have found an apartment. The most difficult step has been taken. After signing the contract there are a few more things to do.
Furnishing the apartment
Your service provider needs a copy of the signed rental agreement and the confirmation of the landlord. When you bring these to your service provider, ask them about the furnishing of your apartment. In certain cases, you will receive financial support for this if you do not yet have your own furniture. Jobcentre customers can apply for initial furnishing in the application (part 2) for an assurance of the costs of the new accommodation (form 3) under “other costs”. It takes a while for the application to be checked and for the money to arrive in your account. You should therefore submit your applications as early as possible.
You can buy inexpensive furniture, for example, in the following second-hand facilities.
